PCCCI Media Night

Attended by over 200, the Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) held its second annual media night on Monday, April 2 at the ballroom of WEIL Hotel.

The lively evening kicked off with a video presentation introducing the commerce, industry, agriculture and tourism in the state. It was followed by a video montage on the series of events held in conjunction with the chamber’s 110-year milestone especially its record-breaking Ipoh Cultural Parade and iconic anniversary dinner.

“The main objective of our media night is to express our utmost gratitude to the media for highlighting our PCCCI activities to the community throughout the year. In conjunction with the occasion, we have His Excellency Wu Jun, Consul General of the Consulate General of People’s Republic of China in Penang as our guest of honour to engage in productive and meaningful dialogue with us,” said Dato’ Liew Sew Yee, president of PCCCI in his opening speech.

Present was Dato’ Dr Mah Hang Soon, the Executive Councillor for Health, Public Transport, Non-Islamic Affairs, National Integration and New Villages.

Accompanied by a live band, a buffet dinner ensued with a lucky draw featuring hampers and Aeon vouchers.

Tan Mei Kuan

Tan Mei Kuan graduated with first-class honours and book prize from University of Malaya majoring in languages and linguistics (English). She is proficient in both written and spoken English and Malay. She is also conversant in Mandarin and has knowledge of Japanese and Korean languages. Mei Kuan has been on the Dean’s List for three years running. Having written for the campus newspaper and residential college magazine, joining Ipoh Echo has helped utilise her writing and language skills. In her spare time she enjoys running (races).
