Perak Medical Centre Now in Kampar

Perak Medical Centre (PMC) unveiled its fourth branch at Kampar Sentral, Kampar in addition to its existing two in Ipoh and in Batu Gajah.

Managing Director of PMC, Dr K. Supramanian explained that the new clinic will endeavour to provide the best service to Kampar folk. “PMC was established 40 years ago and now it’s well-known by many. This has prompted us to open a branch in Kampar.

“The history of PMC dates back to over 60 years ago. It’s known as Georgetown Dispensary then. Around 1978 it was divided into two divisions namely, one dealing in pharmaceutical the other in medical. Presently, the pharmaceutical business is known as Georgetown Dispensary while the medical business as PMC.

“We’ve eight very experienced doctors and 55 staff members, some having over 30 years of service,” he said during the launch of the Kampar branch on Thursday, March 21. Present was guest of honour, Orang Besar Jajahan Kampar, Dato’ Toh Sedewa Raja, Dato’ Abdul Talib Abdul Fahmi..

According to Dr K. Supramanian, all PMC branches are now furnished with various facilities including the latest high-tech health examination equipment.

“We’ve upgraded our service in line with current technology to facilitate and speed up the treatment of patients. For example, we can detect patients with Influenza A or B in just 3 minutes via blood test using the latest technology.
