The Iconic Ipoh Heritage Trail

A trip to Ipoh is incomplete without taking The Tin Mining City Story: Ipoh Heritage Trail. The trail passes by many of Ipoh’s historical spots which date back to the golden age of tin mining.

Besides buildings with colonial architecture, you get to see activities and sample mouth-watering local food, up and close.

Your foot tour begins at the Ipoh Railway Station in the company of experienced tour guide, Madam Roselyn. The trail features 18 historical spots in all, namely, the Town Hall, Dato’ Sagor Square, Concubine Lane and Hakka Tin Mining Museum among others.

Along the route, you get to taste Ipoh’s iconic white coffee and spot a mural or two.

Your shopping fun begins upon arrival at Concubine Lane. You can visit WOW Merchandise Shop (Perak official merchandise shop) if you want to acquire some souvenirs.

Incidentally, the Ipoh Heritage Trail is open to the public only on Saturdays with two sessions – 8am and 4pm. The narrative is either in English or Mandarin.

For details, visit www.lokalocal.com or call Madam Roselyn at 012 500 9400.
