Despite the never-ending fight against COVID-19, Pantai Hospital Ipoh had prepared food boxes to be distributed via the social welfare department (JKM) for those heavily affected by the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO).
Their chief executive officer, Chong Siet Fong conveyed gratitude to Pantai Hospital doctors and staff for their dedication.
“Many thanks to them, around 250 food boxes were prepared,” she told reporters on Monday, April 27 at a distribution session in Pantai Hospital’s Medical Hall. “The food boxes were distributed to the whole Kinta District.”
“Due to the lengthy MCO, present contributions are rather insufficient,” she stated. “Earlier ones had run out, thus we would appreciate further contributions from any parties.”
According to Nor Asikin, Kinta District alone has around 9,000 individuals in need, not mentioning other districts in the state.
“Hopefully, more NGOs are willing to lend a hand in donating more daily necessities like cooking oil and rice to the needy via JKM offices,” she expressed.
