Family Entertainment Centres to Reopen

Family entertainment centres are now allowed to operate after a briefing from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

The approval involves games arcades, indoor funfair parks, edutainment, children’s gym games, machine-based gaming entertainments, technological entertainments and family karaoke centres.

However, pubs and discos are yet to be allowed.

In a statement by the Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the decision will benefit the related workforce of more than 3,000 and RM500 million contribution to the national income.

He stressed that centre coordinators must follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) such as using the MySejahtera mobile app for registration.

“Staff must perform body temperature screening, limit the amount of visitors based on premise size and practice social (physical) distancing,” Ismail Sabri added. “Online ticket sales are encouraged, while cleaning and disinfecting works are to be done periodically.”
