Ipoh Riverfront and Ipoh Padang to Gain New Looks by 2021

Ipoh City Council (MBI) announced the closure of areas around Ipoh Riverfront and Ipoh Padang for upgrading works which commenced recently lasting until January 1, 2021.

In an overall sense, the projects will give a fresh and new environment to both places, making them two of the few go-to tourism destinations in Ipoh.

Ipoh Riverfront will undergo the process of maintenance and landscape upgrade which is part of the proposed green network.

Uniformity in the aspect of consistent designs, such as pedestrian or trishaw passageways and signboards are a few prioritised upgrading suggestions.

The ‘Light and Sound’ installation project at Ipoh Padang is expected to become a tourism product which will highly contribute to the state’s economy.

Both projects are executed by the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA).
