Perak is set to have the largest Petting Zoo in Malaysia spanning 10-acres by January 2021 which incorporates three elements: animals, plants, as well as nature.
The development will begin in October at the Perak Agrotourism Resort (Patro). According to the State Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi, the Petting Zoo will surely be an attractive tourism product for many visitors.
“Patro is a resort which provides luxurious accommodation with agricultural roots. It’s also well-known for various challenging activities like ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle), boat paddling and kayaking.
“We hope that the new management will be able to highlight the handicraft and food produced by the local community,” she said during a press conference after the relaunch and groundbreaking ceremony for the training centre as well as petting zoo at Patro which is located at Sungai Galah, Tanjung Tualang.
Run by the Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation Group (PPPNP), Patro was launched by Sultan Nazrin Shah on May 14, 2014.
