Once more, the public has the opportunity to enjoy vouchers worth RM150 in conjunction with the second anniversary of Lembah Kinta Geopark this year.
According to the State Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi, the #TravelPeraklah geotourism vouchers are at its second phase of re-spurring the tourism economy in Perak.
“This latest initiative offers as much as 1,050 vouchers which are meant to attract more tourists via packages prepared by agencies, besides assisting them through the pandemic outbreak that disrupted their activities,” she told reporters during a launching ceremony of the vouchers and Dark Tourism @ Kellie’s Castle yesterday (October 16).
“The geotourism vouchers involve 35 tourism agencies in Perak, like Perak Bumiputra Tourism Association (PPBP) and Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA).
The discount vouchers can be obtained at all selected registered agencies starting November 2020 to March 2021, which are applicable only to packages of at least RM299 per person or three-day two-night stay packages in Perak.
Meanwhile, Nolee Ashilin also reviewed the temporary closure of Sunway Lost World of Tambun (SLWOT) due to suspected COVID-19 outbreak.
“The theme park’s closure is to facilitate in-depth cleaning works resulting from a visitor who was detected positive of the virus.
“As of today, we’ve yet to receive further information about closure of tourism products or premises around the state,” she stated.
“All we can hope is for the public to always watch their adherence to SOPs for the betterment of the tourism sector in Perak,” Nolee Ashilin expressed.
