EMCO at Religious School Extended till December 5

The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at Maahad Al-Yahyawiyah, a government-aided religious school in Padang Rengas, Kuala Kangsar, was extended for another two weeks, from November 22 until December 5.

According to Kuala Kangsar District police chief, Assistant Commissioner Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob, a letter entailing the implementation of EMCO standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the premise was issued by the Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“The police’s duty at the premise remains the same, which is to maintain two roadblocks at the school’s entrance and exit passages,” he said.

Earlier this month (November 7), the Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the implementation of EMCO at the said school from November 8 to 21 after 27 cases were recorded at the school, up to November 5.
