New Police Chief of Perak 

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director (Investigation/ Legal), Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, was appointed as the new police chief of Perak.

Mior, 58, will be taking over from Datuk Mazlan Santarai, the former acting police chief of Perak who is now the deputy police chief.

The handing-over ceremony was held at Perak Senior Police Officers’ Mess, Ipoh, witnessed by Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Dato’ Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.

In his speech, Mior said that he’ll be mapping directions and strategies to ensure that the Perak police contingent isn’t only about maintenance of momentum for success as before, but to give more than just that.

Meanwhile, Acryl Sani welcomed Mior’s appointment as the new police chief of Perak, citing his credibility and leadership skills as commendable.

“I’m confident that with Mior’s experience, the state police contingent will be guided with much better control.

“Hopefully, the media cooperates with Mior to facilitate unhindered communication between PDRM and the public,” he expressed.

Kuala Kangsar-born Mior possesses great experience in commercial crime investigation. He previously served as police chief for Timur Laut District in Penang and subsequently, as Bukit Aman CID deputy director (Investigation/ Legal).

Also handing over during the ceremony as chairperson of the Police Family Association (PERKEP) Perak was Datin Rosiah Timah Jamiyor to Datin Nor Qhadhijah Abdul Wahab, witnessed by vice chairperson of PERKEP, Datin Seri Ir Zaitun Mohd Isa.
