Further Decrease in Flood Victims to 145 

As of 5pm today (January 8), flood victims in the state have further decreased to 145, comprising 53 households placed at three temporary relief centres (PPS) in three districts.

According to a spokesperson for the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) Perak via WhatsApp, a PPS was established at Perak Tengah District yesterday (January 7).

“Nine victims comprising three households were affected by the flood that struck Kampung Tanjung Aur. They’re currently placed at Kampung Tanjung Aur Community Hall in Bota Kiri,” he said.

Hilir Perak District continues to record the highest number of victims out of the total, with 120 victims comprising 31 households placed at Teluk Intan Municipal Council (MPTI) Hall in Teluk Intan.

“Other PPS at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sri Langkap and Chikus Multipurpose Hall in the district are now closed in light of floods that have subsided in both areas,” the spokesperson added.

In Hulu Perak District, a slight increase was recorded, with 16 flood victims which comprise five households placed at Kampung Perah Community Hall.

“The PPS at Dato’ Azman Mahalan Multipurpose Hall in Kuala Dipang, Kampar District is also closed as of this moment,” he mentioned.
