TTM Continues CSR Programmes Despite Ongoing Difficulties

Toyo Tyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd (TTM) has allocated at least RM1.3 million to execute the Education Financial Aid Programme (PBKP) and the 2021 Student Scholarships Programme (PBM 2021) which started in 2013.

Managing director of TTM Kamunting, Mike Toh said that the PBKP has benefited 34 local university undergraduates and 289 primary school students from poor families residing around the area of Kamunting, Taiping.

“Previously, 19 students had successfully completed their studies and this gave us the spirit to continue these CSR programmes, especially when the company is badly affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“PBM 2021 receivers will be given an RM4,000 financial aid annually until completion of studies, while PBKP receivers will be given RM2,400 per year,” he said after a presentation ceremony at the TTM factory in Kamunting, Taiping, recently.

PBM 2021 receivers comprise students from around Kamunting and Taiping, which are Hua Lian High School, St George Secondary School, King Edward VII School and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kamunting.

PBKP receivers, in turn, comprise students from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Hua Lian 1; Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Hua Lian 2; Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Aulong; Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Palma; Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Panglima dan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (T) YMHA.
