MBI Prihatin – Council Members Committed to Helping the Needy

The Ipoh City Council (MBI) through the MBI Prihatin (MBI Cares) Programme regularly channels aid in various forms to citizens who are affected by the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0.

Recently, MBI Zone 20 (Menglembu) council member, Mahader Ahmad Mohammad Ayob, together with the Menglembu Zone Residents’ Representative Committee (JPP) presented donations of grocery essentials to 300 recipients.

The recipients are from Taman Impiana Adril, Kampung Baru Bukit Merah, Menglembu Regrouping Area, Menglembu Timur and Lahat.

Mahader Ahmad said the provision of the food pack is MBI’s initiative to help reduce the burden of the people in Ipoh as a result of the pandemic.

“In this regard, we will make sure that food supplies will be channeled to those who truly need them during the MCO period,” he said.

Meanwhile, another MBI Zone 14 (Pasir Pinji) council member, Prof Dr. Richard Ng also presented grocery supplies to citizens via the MBI Prihatin programme.

He said their collaboration with Persatuan Kebajikan Sejati Warga Perak managed to track about 820 families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Ipoh.

“We’ll continue to work on looking for those who need help so that they receive appropriate assistance,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to the JPP team consisting of S Pandian, S Thinakaran and Stanley Nelson who worked together to help those in need.
