Mexicans Grilz Cafe Spicing Up the Gloom of the Pandemic in Ipoh

We’re all feeling extremely trapped and unmotivated, even burned out, at this point of the pandemic and the lockdown imposition. The only one of few things that keeps us going, that panacea for all emotional ills, is food.

What about Mexican cuisine? Ipohites who want something new, look this way! Mexicans Grilz Cafe is here in our beloved city of Ipoh.

Located a few metres away from the heart of Little India, they serve authentic Mexican style delicacies for those who crave the internationally popular, yet new and fresh-faced choice of food in our local scene.

Arvind Kanna

Meet young proprietor cum chef, 19-year-old Arvind Kanna and his sidekick, 36-year-old chef B. Naresh. Arvind has been in the culinary scene for at least five years, while Naresh for nearly two decades.

“I started cooking when I was around 14. After my studies, I spent a few years working in various eateries at Kuala Lumpur. That was the period when I fell in love with Mexican cuisine.

“Since Kuala Lumpur has an overabundance of food choices, I thought of moving back to Ipoh to start my own business, with culinary knowledge of Mexican food that I acquired during my years there.

“I’m really grateful to have a tremendously supportive father, who helped establish Mexicans Grilz Cafe,” he explained during an interview recently.
