The government decided to not advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to extend the state of emergency when it ends on August 1.
The matter was informed by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Parliament), Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan at the Dewan Rakyat during the morning session.
Takiyuddin also informed the Dewan Rakyat that the government will revoke all Emergency Ordinances made when the Emergency was proclaimed.
“Since it is revoked, the issue of annulment is no longer relevant,” he said.
He was answering Ngeh Koo Ham (PH-Beruas) who appealed to Speaker Azhar Azizan Harun to reconsider the rejection of his motions.
