The Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Saarani Mohamad reminds the public not to panic by the statement released by the Director General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on the significant surge in COVID-19 cases in the state.

According to the Menteri Besar, the statement was made during Noor Hisham’s official work visit to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) to review the readiness of the Perak State Health Department to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The statement is a reminder for all to abide by the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), not to trigger public anxiety.

“As a precautionary measure to face any unforeseen circumstances, the state government is prepared to open three more new COVID-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC).

“We will ensure that the three centres operate based on current demands,” he told reporters after reviewing the progress of the paid COVID-19 vaccination programme for private companies or SilverVax at Ar-Ridzuan Hospital today (August 5).

Also present were the President of Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Melayu Perak (MAIPk), Dato’ Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini; Ar-Ridzuan Medical Group General Manager, Khairul Salleh Abdul Rani and Ipoh Mayor Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin.
