Sungai Siput District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Khaizam Ahmad Shahabudin said, the investigation done found that the employees were instructed by the Kuala Kangsar District Health Office to attend the COVID-19 screening test at the factory they worked at on the same day the pictures went viral on Facebook.
“The order was issued after six factory workers tested positive for COVID-19. Upon completion of the screening test, the workers were given pink wristbands and were instructed to return to their dormitory.
“The results of the police investigation found that the viral pictures showed the factory workers on their way back to the hostel, and some had stopped by a nearby shop to buy necessities throughout the quarantine period,” he said in a press statement yesterday.
