The Ipoh City Council (MBI) addressed the rising demand for blood supply at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB).

Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said the critical blood supply shortage at HRPB and its difficulty in meeting the needs of its patients had captured MBI’s attention.

“MBI has implemented a blood donation programme jointly with HRPB as a way to supply blood to the blood bank.

“I call on everyone, especially individuals who are in good health, to carry out the duty of donating blood as it can save the lives of patients,” he told the media after officiating the Blood Donation and E-Waste Collection Programme at Dato’ Ahmad Hall at Kampung Rokam, Ipoh, this morning (October 10).

Also present at the one-day programme was MBI council member Dato’ Mohamad Nasri Shaari (Zone 22); MBI council member Mohd Annuar Baharudin (Zone 23) and MBI council member Abu Bakar Hussian (Zone 21).

The programme, with the cooperation of the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) and the Resident Representative Committee (JPP) was a success.
