New Site Offered to Traders of Station 18 Ramadan Bazaar Due to Unsuitable Location

The Ipoh City Council (MBI) cancelled the approval of the Station 18 Ramadan bazaar site due to the unsuitable location and to prevent congestion.

It was also following the objection from the traders at nearby premises.

The location which is next to Jalan Pasir Puteh is strategic but it is surrounded by business premises including four clinics, sparking concerns about crowding.

As a solution, all 22 traders of the Station 18 Ramadan bazaar have been offered another location as replacement.

Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin said, “We offer two other locations, namely Taman Temara and Desa Aman, which are located in the same zone.

“We have already informed this offer to the organiser and several traders have agreed to trade at the new location.”

He said so after the 2022 Assessment Tax Lucky Draw session at the MBI building today.

The issue arose when the organiser and several traders voiced dissatisfaction with the cancellation of the bazaar site by MBI.

According to Rumaizi, the issue is solved as traders are still provided with business opportunities, just at a better location.
