Online Payment of Assessment Tax Provides Convenience

A total of 130,920 bills of annual tax payment were received in the period of a year, recording a surplus of RM35.09 million.

Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said that although there was a slight decrease from the year 2021 of 141,191 bills and a surplus of RM36.45 million, this total was still satisfactory.

“Starting this year, the Ipoh City Council (MBI) opens participation opportunities to all payment channels to pay assessment tax for a year without arrears.

“Payment can be made at MBI payment counters, post office counters, counters of local authorities (PBT Perak) and online via the MBI portal (d-mbi@ipoh), PBTPay, Jompay as well as internet banking latest before the second session on August 31.

“For online payment and via collection agents, lucky draw slips will be processed automatically by the council. This initiative is a step to encourage the people to make payments without needing to be present at the counters while maintaining their eligibility to participate in the lucky draw,” he said during the media conference of the 2022 Assessment Tax Lucky Draw session which was also broadcasted live on MBI’s Facebook page.

Present were City Secretary, Ahmad Munir bin Ishak and MBI Council Members, Clr. Dato’ Mazlan Abdul Rahman, Clr. Abu Bakar Hussian and Clr. Mahader Ahmad Mohammad Ayob.

There were a total of 50 lucky draws with 20 consolation prizes and 30 main prizes. The next draw is expected to be carried out on another date for the main prizes.

According to Rumaizi, this year a total of 50 attractive prizes in the form of cash amounting RM59,200 overall are to be won, with the main prize worth RM20,000. This is the second year the council has offered cash prizes.

“As for early payers of 2022 assessment tax, the council has provided 45,000 books of 30-minute parking coupons as appreciation.

“May Ipohites continue to carry out their responsibility and provide continuous support in realising the vision of making Ipoh a ‘Bandaraya Bestari Sejahtera’,” he said.
