Road Extension Project Boosts Development of Meru Raya-Klebang

The development of Ipoh will be further boosted with a road extension project for Jalan Utama Meru Raya-Klebang.

The construction is also an initiative of the state government via Ipoh City Council (MBI) involving cooperation with several real estate developers.

It includes Ain Bina Development Sdn Bhd, Eadepro Development Sdn Bhd, Satin Tiara Sdn Bhd, Scientex Quatari Sdn Bhd and Total Investment Sdn Bhd.

When completed in the period of five years, the area is set to provide more than 1,700 residential and commercial lots for the developmental needs in Ipoh.

Executive Councilor for Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport, Dato’ Mohd Zolkafly Harun said that via this smart collaboration, part of the cost will be borne by the developers.

According to him, via the Private Fund Investment (PFI), the state government bears the cost for the process of reacquisition of land with an estimate of RM4.2 million.

“The estimated overall cost including infrastructure is RM6.6 million. The project is expected to be completed in two years.

“It is set to contribute revenue to the state government with estimated tax revenue of RM350,000 a year.”

He said so during the groundbreaking ceremony of the project recently.

Present were Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud; City Secretary, Ahmad Munir Ishak and MBI Council Members.

This project is to connect the area of Meru Raya with Klebang to shorten the travel distance and boost development.

It will connect Lebuh Chepor Utama 2 and Lebuh Klebang Putra.

It includes the construction of a 50-metre bridge across Sungai Pari and a 2-way, 4-lane road of 1.3 kilometres.

LED streetlights and road furniture will also be installed.
