Pre-Dawn Meal Programme Boosts Community Spirit

The Hajjah Puteh Mahami Mosque in Bercham Raya recently saw the attendance of over 200 devotees for a ‘Singgah Sahur dan Tazkirah Subuh’ (pre-dawn meal and talk) programme together with the media and youth of Perak.

Held in conjunction with the month of Ramadan, the programme saw the presence of Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and wife, together with the officers from the Youth and Sports Ministry.

The programme which began at 4am saw a convoy of motorcycles joined by Ahmad Faizal and volunteers arriving at the Maahad Tahfiz al-Quran wal-Qiraat ADDIN 7 along Jalan Tambun to present packs of pre-dawn meals.

The convoy then moved towards Hajjah Puteh Mahami Mosque for a pre-dawn meal together with youth, devotees, volunteers and members of the media.

The programme was also participated by leaders of the Malaysian Youth Council.

According to Ahmad Faizal, such programmes which have been held yearly are aimed to educate the youth to perform welfare work.

“For example, the Tambun Parliament Service Centre also organises a bubur lambuk (spiced congee) cooking event every Ramadan.

“Community-oriented programmes are the most important. Thus when the restrictions are eased during the transition to the endemic phase, such beneficial programmes are continued.”

He also expressed gratitude to all involved in making the programme a success.
