Perak Pass Plus Application to Help Local Entrepreneurs and Tourism Operators

Perak Pass Plus (PPP) will soon be the official tourism application of the state in line with the importance of digitisation as a platform to promote tourism and entrepreneurial products.

Executive Councilor for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin binti Dato’ Mohammed Radzi said the PPP application, jointly developed by Tourism Perak together with Tourplus Technology Sdn. Bhd, is a continuation of the web-based Perak Pass developed on March 12 at Setia City Mall.

“The development of PPP can help to promote the state tourism industry in addition to boosting the economy of local entrepreneurs.

“Via the PPP application, all promotional activities can be done digitally which is easy and fast. It functions as a booking engine like Booking.com, Agoda and Lazada but focusing only on the state tourism products.

“Besides facilitating tourists in obtaining information on tourism products, the PPP app offers various services such as hotel bookings, public transport services, food vouchers and more,” she told the media after witnessing the signing of an MOU between Tourism Perak and Tourplus Technology Sdn Bhd at the state secretariat building yesterday.

The MOU was signed by CEO of Tourism Perak, Nurmalis Musa and Founder / CEO of Tourplus Technology Sdn Bhd, Rickson Goh.

The PPP application is expected to be available to members of the public starting May 31 via download on the Apple App Store, Google Playstore and Huawei App Gallery.

According to Nolee, all tourism product operators in the state are eligible to join the PPP for free with a low commission charge for each transaction.

“The commission charge for the first 100 transactions is 0%. The commission charge is only applied on the 101th transaction and onwards at 6% till 15%.

“For the first phase, we target a total of 50,000 operators joining the PPP by the end of 2022. Besides boosting the economy, it is also expected to create 10,000 job opportunities in the state tourism sector.”
