929,427 Children in Malaysia Completed Covid-19 Vaccination

Up until 8 May, a total of 929,427 or 26.2% of children aged 5 to 11 years in Malaysia completed vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).

According to a statement on the CovidNow website, a total of 1,553,175 or 43.8% out of the group received at least one dose of vaccine.

For teenagers aged 12 to 17 years, a total of 2,897,493 or 93.1% completed vaccination while 2,994,981 or 96.2% received at least one dose of vaccine.

Meanwhile, for adults, a total of 16,043,079 or 68.2% received booster dose, 22,968,088 or 97.6% completed two doses while 23,244,086 or 98.8% received at least one dose.

On Sunday, a total of 26,584 doses were administered involving 7,266 first doses, 17,896 second doses and 1,422 booster doses, making the cumulative total of vaccine administered via PICK to be 70,416,939. 

According to the GitHub portal of the Ministry of Health (KKM), a total of 4 deaths due to Covid-19 were reported on Sunday with two cases in Selangor and one case in Kedah and Perak respectively.
