Covid-19: Practise personal SOP, prevent transmission of Omicron XBB sub-variants

by Rosli Mansor

The Malaysian Ministry of Health (MoH) reminds the public that the trend of positive cases of COVID-19 reported in Malaysia, has shown an increase.

The same goes for the number of cases admitted to the ward and ICU due to COVID-19. This increase is in line with the detection of the Omicron XBB sub-variant in this country from October.

In order to ensure that we go through the endemic phase of living with the COVID-19 virus in a controlled manner and are able to carry out daily activities safely, the public is reminded to continue to practise preventive measures, especially the correct use of face masks in crowded places, practice hand hygiene and adhere to TRIIS (Test, Report, Isolate, Inform and Seek).

The vaccine is still effective in reducing serious symptoms due to infection with all variants of the COVID-19 virus, including XBB. Therefore, the Ministry of Health calls on those who are eligible to immediately take the vaccine and booster dose. Get your appointment through the MySejahtera application.
