The Malaysian Ministry of Health (MoH) took the initiative to advise the public to follow some health recommendations ahead of voting day for the 15th General Election.

Director General of Health Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said some advice was recommended to ensure the voting process would run safely, especially in terms of reducing the risk of the spread of the COVID-19 infection.

“All individuals positive for COVID-19 must wear face masks, while the use of face masks for other voters is highly encouraged. Use the hand sanitizer provided at the polling station. Bringing your own hand sanitizer is recommended.

“Covid-19 positive voters are not allowed to board public vehicles including e-hailing or stop anywhere before and after voting, and must return home immediately after finishing voting.

“Voters who are positive for COVID-19 must adhere to safe physical isolation, while physical isolation for other voters is strongly encouraged, and individuals who have not received a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine are advised to immediately register and get vaccinated to protect themselves and those around them.

“Let’s work together to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection to voters and staff at polling stations throughout the 15th GE,” he said in a media statement today.
