GE15: PDRM to ensure security on voting day

Perak Police Chief, Dato’ Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said, the police would like to thank all parties, especially the contesting candidates and party supporters for giving good cooperation to the security forces to this day, as so far, the election campaign conducted by all parties went smoothly and without any incident that threatened public safety and order.

“After the campaign period ends on 18 November 2022, at 11.59pm, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Perak will start focusing on security and order throughout the voting process.

“To ensure security throughout the voting process runs smoothly, a total of 7,217 Perak PDRM officers will be deployed on the day with a breakdown of 665 senior officers and 6,552 junior police officers.

“Perak PDRM was also assisted by 254 Royal Malaysian Police Reserve Police Volunteers (SPSDRM) and 1,603 Malaysian Volunteer Department (RELA),” he said in a media statement yesterday.

At the same time, he advised all candidates and supporters of the contesting party to remain compliant with the regulations and laws set and to give full cooperation to the authorities.

To the people who will return to their respective polling places on 19 November 2022, please plan your journey well and be careful when on the road. Be sure to bring your identity card and make adequate preparations before going out to vote.

He said, to ensure the smoothness of the voting process, leave early or according to the time recommended by the Election Commission (SPR).

“People do not need to be afraid and worry about their safety and property when they want to vote.

“PDRM is always committed to ensuring that GE-15, especially in the state of Perak, runs smoothly, perfectly and safely,” he said.
