The fire brigade rescued three victims who were trapped on the side of the river in Jalan Air Kuning, Kampung Air Kuning, yesterday evening.
A spokesperson for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak said that they received a call regarding the incident at 2.42pm.
He also said that members of the Taiping Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the scene of the incident and found that the victims consisted of two men and a woman.
“The three victims who were trapped on the other side of the river, it is believed that they were bathing in the area and suddenly the river water rose sharply due to rain.
“The operation commander ordered members to use lifelines to move the victims to a safe area,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II Mazli Abd Mutalib ended at 4pm.
