1,908 graduates celebrated at USAS’s 15th Convocation Ceremony on December 3-4

Sultan Azlan Shah University (USAS) will hold its 15th Convocation Ceremony on December 3-4 (Saturday-Sunday), at the Perak Jubilee Hall, Kuala Kangsar.

The Convocation Ceremony will last for two days with four sessions, after two years of being held virtually following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tuanku Chancellor, Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah has been gracious enough and agreed to complete the awarding of degrees to graduates for the first session on Saturday and to present awards to outstanding students.

According to the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance, Prof. Associate Dr. Anas Md Yusof, this time’s ceremony will witness a total of 1,908 graduates, including Doctor of Philosophy (4), Masters (47), Bachelors (990), Diplomas (852) and 15 graduates of the Postgraduate Diploma (Judicial Practice and Syaria Law under the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Social Sciences).

“This is the highest number of graduates produced by USAS since its establishment in 1999 (KISDAR).

He said, this time’s convocation involved a total of 1,244 graduates from the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Social Sciences and 664 people from the University’s Faculty of Management and Information Technology.

The ceremony can also be witnessed virtually through USAS official Facebook.

“People around Kuala Kangsar are also invited to attend the various activities of the Kuala Kangsar Festival and the USAS Convocation (Feskon Festival) at Dataran Pavillion, Kuala Kangsar from 1 to 4 December.

“Various free activities have been arranged for visitors including a mini petting zoo and the Soopa Doopa water slide game,” he said.

Visitors can also participate in folk sports events, exploration, battle nasyid, village cooking competition and Kuala Fun Run.

Various sports competitions such as football, rugby, netball and badminton are also held around Kuala Kangsar in conjunction with the convocation.
