Reliacraft Dagangan lends equipment to assist in Batang Kali SAR operations

by Rosli Mansor

Private companies have also helped the authorities in terms of support equipment in launching another search and rescue (SAR) operation for landslide victims at the Batang Kali campsite.

Reliacraft Dagangan, for example, lent six pieces of equipment to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).

The Milwaukee heavy duty hardware is a high power floodlight with two Tower Light units and power sets each and one Rocket Light and Stand Light.

This portable type of hardware uses a high-powered battery that can last up to 10 hours.

The manager of Reliacraft Dagangan, Muhammad Shafii Jaafar said, this loan is part of their corporate social responsibilities to help the authorities.

According to him, all the equipment was sent to the incident site for use by the rescue team yesterday.

“We have deployed Reliacraft Dagangan staff to the location to deliver this equipment to the authorities.

“This portable set of equipment is expected to help the rescue team, given the challenging and vast search area,” he said in a statement.

Reliacraft Dagangan is a Milwaukee hardware distributor.

During the landslide incident at Taman Bukit Permai Ampang, Selangor last March 10, Reliacraft Dagangan also donated the same equipment to the fire department for use in SAR operations.

It is understood that JBPM also has flood lights of the same type but the number is small.

Meanwhile, until yesterday afternoon, a total of 24 victims were confirmed dead out of a total of 94 victims involved.
