One died and two others injured in head-on vehicle collision

One man died and his two passengers were seriously injured when the Proton Iswara car that they were travelling in collided with a four-wheel drive vehicle at Jalan Sungai Galah yesterday.

The accident happened at around 3pm.

A spokesperson for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak said that they received a call regarding the incident at 3.41pm.

“Members from the Kampung Gajah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the location and found that the two vehicles had collided head-on.

“There were three male victims involved in this accident. The driver of the Proton Iswara was trapped and died, while the passengers were seriously injured,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the operation commander then ordered the members to carry out rescue work using rescue equipment and stretchers.

According to him, the injured were given initial treatment and taken to the hospital by ambulance while the dead were handed over to the police for further action.

The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II Rahman Piei ended at 5.24pm.
