Public requested for information about the fatal accident involving a Proton Saga and a 4 Wheel Drive in Kampung Gajah

The police are asking for the public’s cooperation in passing on information regarding a fatal accident involving a man after his vehicle collided with a four-wheel drive (4×4) on Jalan Kampung Gajah-Tanjung Tualang, Kampung Gajah on Tuesday.

Perak Police Chief, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said, the preliminary investigation has found that the victim was riding in a Proton Saga car with two other passengers from the direction of Batu Gajah to Kampung Gajah.

While the four-wheel drive Isuzu Dmax type came from the opposite direction.

“When arriving at the scene, the two vehicles collided head-on in the middle of the road.

“As a result of the accident, the Proton Saga driver died at the scene, while two other passengers suffered broken ribs and received treatment at Changkat Melintang Hospital.

“However, the four-wheel drive driver did not suffer any injuries,” he said in a statement last night.

He added that the Proton Saga car was badly damaged in all parts, while the four-wheel drive was damaged in the front, left and right were dented and the front tyre was broken including the rear bumper.

“Further investigations are still ongoing and all victims have been sent to Changkat Melintang Hospital for treatment and post-mortem,” he said.

Mohd Yusri said the case was classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.

Members of the public who have information related to the incident are asked to come forward to assist the investigation by contacting the Traffic Investigation Officer, Insp Muhahammad Aizat Abdullah on 017-7041317.

Earlier, the media reported that one man died and two others were seriously injured when the car they were travelling in collided with a four-wheel drive at Jalan Sungai Galah, on Tuesday.
