Spirit of unity to maintain harmony

by Rosli Mansor Ahmad Razali

The spirit of unity and respect is able to create a harmonious life among the many races in this country.

Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad said the unity that exists can be seen through various festivals in the country.

“The celebration of the Chinese New Year is a reflection of how a multicultural country like Malaysia is much more special and successful compared to most other countries.

“Like other festive celebrations, the harmony in Malaysia is quite evident with the practice of visiting and open houses.

“When compared to other countries that are constantly in turmoil even though they are not made up of multi-ethnic people, Malaysia is still boldly standing as an example country because of harmonious racial relations.

“In fact, differences never stop us from complementing each other in overcoming various tests and challenges,” he said while speaking at the Chinese New Year Celebration Ceremony at the Perak Chinese Assembly Hall 2023, yesterday.

Saarani noted how important unity is when Malaysians are going through a tough situation, such as for example, fighting the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to him, without unity, it is impossible for the vaccination programme to be so successful that we can finally enter the recovery phase.

“This spirit, my friends and I apply in managing the administration of the State Government. We exercise all efforts to create stability.

“Although the year 2023 will be challenging in terms of the economy, but with the spirit of unity and solidarity among us, we will definitely be able to overcome all the challenges and obstacles,” he said.
