A van crashes into the back of a lorry on the highway

IPOH: A van crashed into the back of a lorry at kilometre (km) 268 of the North-South Highway (PLUS), northbound, involving three people seriously injured here today.

Head of Operations of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, Senior Fire Officer II Mahmud Azaddin said that after receiving a call at 6.05 am,
members of the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) with the help of the Meru Raya BBP and the Simpang Pulai BBP rushed to the location.

“There were five victims, three men and two women, three of whom were seriously injured and the other two were lightly injured.

“The fire brigade carried out the work of removing the seriously injured victims from the van using special equipment.

“The victim was then taken using the EMRS machine and the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM) ambulance to the hospital,” he told reporters on Thursday.

The operation ended at 7.19 am.
