IPOH – Residents around Taman Fair, Taman Pearl, Taman Kin Mee and Kepayang Putra Arena received 727 units of garbage bins (120 litres) from the Ipoh City Council (MBI) last Sunday.

The free trash containers were presented by the Chief Whip of Councilors (Zone 8), Wong Kar Kea through the Cultivation Programme for the Use of Trash Containers.

At the same time, he also distributed leaflets ‘Preparation of Garbage Bins in Business Premises and Residential Houses’ to each recipient of the bin to raise public awareness about how to properly dispose of garbage.

According to him, the practice of using rubbish bins needs to be made a culture among the citizens of the city as it is the goal aimed at by MBI.

“To realise Ipoh as a clean city, the community must start from home as a way of life.

“Awareness and discipline must also be fostered in the new generation so that they realise that the habit of throwing away garbage correctly can preserve the sustainability of a healthy and clean environment,” he said.
