KAMPUNG GAJAH: Two women died, while a husband and wife were injured in an accident involving two vehicles in Kampung Changkat Rambai here today.
The Director of the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, Sayani Saidon, said the deceased victims were the driver and passenger of a Perodua Kancil car.
She said the two women who died were 32 years old.
Meanwhile, the two victims from the sports utility vehicle (SUV) X-Trail, a husband and wife aged 40, sustained minor injuries.
“We received the call at 11:17 this morning, and members of the Kampung Gajah Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene.
“When our team arrived at the location, they found two vehicles involved in the accident.
“The two victims from the Perodua Kancil were trapped inside the vehicle and confirmed dead, while the two victims from the X-Trail, the husband and wife, suffered minor injuries,” she said in a statement on Wednesday.
Sayani added that the firefighters used hydraulic cutters to extricate the victims.
She further stated that the operation to rescue the victims was successfully carried out, and the victims were handed over to the Ministry of Health Malaysia and the police for further action.
