BATU GAJAH: The long-awaited question of when the Silverlakes Village Outlet (SVO) will commence its operations will finally be answered as it is set to open in stages starting December 15.

Shaik Rizal Sulaiman, the CEO of Silverland, revealed that the SVO’s opening will be phased until mid-next year. The outlet is divided into two sections, namely West Village and North Village. The West Village was launched in September with events such as the Asian Food Fest and Culture Food Fest.

“The North Village, the main section, will open gradually, starting with 10 to 20 shops before fully opening,” he stated. Currently, 60 per cent of the retailers have agreed to commence business here.

“At least 100 well-known brands will establish a presence here, including Al-Ikhsan, Coach, Kate Spade, Sembonia, Carlo Rino, Puma, and local fashion designers such as Rizman Ruzaini,” he announced during a press conference at the opening of the Dinosaur Theme Park at Silverlakes Village Outlet today.

He added that SVO not only brings international brands to Batu Gajah but also fast-food concepts like McDonald’s. Furthermore, the team is in the process of finalizing agreements with several restaurant franchises to operate in the area.

Commenting on the Dinosaur Theme Park, Shaik mentioned that it is one of the main attractions at Silverlakes Village Outlet, contributing to the vibrancy of Visit Perak 2024.

“As an early preparation for Visit Perak 2024, this theme park is expected to be a special attraction that not only applies a modern approach to attract visitors but also contributes to the economic development of Perak’s tourism,” he said.

“For the Dinosaur Encounter project at SVO, the investment record is RM 15 million, making it the first educational-entertainment dinosaur park in Perak. The Dinosaur Encounter is based on prehistoric science, brought to life with modern technology such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality,” he explained.
