IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) conducted a town hall session with hawkers, shopkeepers, and residents on Jalan Kamaruddin Isa following flash floods on January 24.

The session was attended by WHIP Chief MBI Council Member, Councillor Wong Kar Keat; City Secretary, Ridza’uddin Mohd Radzi; and City Engineering Director, Syahrul ‘Azrin Ghazali.

MBI had instructed the appointed contractors to open the temporary box culvert structures and temporary routes the day after the incident.

This was to ensure that the water flow would not be disrupted and directly reduce the risk of major floods in this area.

MBI would also conduct more frequent cleaning of culverts and expedite the process of installing additional culverts using the ‘Pipe Jacking’ method.
