PTPTK prohibits open burning to prevent risks

GOPENG: Perak State Executive Councillor for Science, Environment and Green Technology, Teh Kok Lim, visited the high-risk fire locations around Gopeng.

This is to assess monitoring methods and actions to address and prevent fires in high-risk and easily combustible areas.

The Department of Environment has provided explanations regarding the processes implemented to enhance monitoring, including at waste disposal sites.

As a preventive measure, the National Open Burning Action Plan (PTPTK) in the state of Perak has also been activated.

It involves various related agencies in monitoring, prevention, and suppression of open burning.

Meanwhile, in other developments, he also provided an explanation regarding newspaper reports about pollution in the Raja Hitam River.

He informed that there are two crude palm oil processing factories within the Sungai Raja Hitam area that have been operational and enforced by the Department of Environment since 2007.

Throughout the operation, both factories have been subjected to various enforcement actions.
