IPOH – Ecodoor.my has emerged as Malaysia’s first agrotourism portal, aiming to promote the agrotourism sector in Perak.

To date, the portal has brought together over 200 agrotourism operators to showcase their unique destinations.

Chairman of the Committee on Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development, YB Loh Sze Yee, expressed that the portal is expected to attract both domestic and international tourists to Perak’s agrotourism offerings.

“In addition to promoting the state’s agrotourism destinations, it also provides visitors with easy access to various attractive agrotourism packages.

“Developed by the Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation (SADC), Ecodoor.my aims to promote agrotourism products globally while supporting sustainable local agricultural development,” he said during the press conference at the launch of Portal Ecodoor.my at the Tourism Perak Office today.

The name Ecodoor.my was selected through a contest organised by Perak SADC from May 21 to 23, 2024, and was won by Nurul Husna, who also received an agrotourism package as a prize.

Meanwhile, Perak SADC CEO, Dato’ Yahanis Yahya, stated that the portal is expected to drive economic growth in the agrotourism sector and boost the local community’s economy.

“We aim to sell 50,000 agrotourism packages by the end of this year, following the positive response at the Perak Agrotourism Carnival 2024 held recently at Resort Tasik Raban.

“We welcome participation and support from all parties, including agrotourism operators, in our efforts to establish agrotourism destinations in line with Visit Perak Year 2024,” he added.

In conjunction with the launch of Ecodoor.my and the school holiday week, a 50 percent discount is offered to the first 50 participants for activities such as white water rafting, geopark adventure, and horseback riding in Selama, Gopeng, and Ulu Piah.

While awaiting the new portal’s maintenance completion, the public can visit https://agrotourism.my to avail of the 50 percent discount offer.
