Among the items included are white pomfret, white prawns, imported round cabbage, imported potatoes, garlic (from China), old ginger (imported), carrots, and white radishes.
Also controlled are the prices of live pigs, pig meat (stomach, ribs, and fat), red chilies, large yellow onions, large imported red onions, and Japanese mustard greens.
Additionally, chicken wings will be controlled for Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan only.
This scheme will be enforced under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.
The maximum prices set at both wholesale and retail levels can be checked on the KPDN website at www.kpdn.gov.my.
KPDN enforcement officers nationwide will be assigned to strategic locations such as public markets, farmers’ markets, and shopping malls to conduct inspections and enforcement.
