PANGKOR: The body of a man was found face down in a water storage tank near Platform P5, Sungai Pinang Besar, here on Tuesday afternoon.
Manjung District Police Chief, ACP Hasbullah Abd Rahman, said that the Pangkor Police Station received a report from the public regarding the incident around 3:15 PM.
He said the report indicated that an unconscious man was found in the water tank.
“The police immediately went to the location upon receiving the information to verify the incident.
“Preliminary investigations at the scene revealed that a man was found face down and unconscious in the water storage tank.
“Examination by a Medical Assistant from the Pangkor Health Clinic confirmed that the victim had passed away,” he said in a statement Tuesday.
He added that the victim was then taken to the forensic unit of Hospital Seri Manjung for an autopsy.
