LUMUT: While it may seem small, for those with many school-going sons, the cost of haircuts can cover a week’s worth of grocery expenses.

To help ease financial burdens, especially for low-income families, the ‘Free Haircut Program – Back to School’ was organized by the Pangkor State Assembly Member (ADUN) Service Center.

The program serves as a preparation for children to return to school with a neat appearance.

This initiative is in collaboration with Adi Barber Shop, where free haircuts are provided by young trainees from A&B Barber Shop.

Pangkor ADUN, Norhaslinda Zakaria, stated that the main objective of this free haircut program is to help alleviate the financial burden on parents.

She mentioned that there are many expenses to manage before the school session starts, and this is one of the assistance initiatives from the ADUN Pangkor Service Center.

“Although this year, no allocation was provided by the state government to opposition representatives’ service centers to organize Back to School programs, we were still able to carry out this free haircut program with our own initiative.

“The program received a very good response, as many children showed up as soon as the event started at 9:30 AM today at the ADUN Pangkor Service Center,” she said.

A total of approximately 70 children and teenagers received free haircuts.

Norhaslinda also expressed her gratitude to Adi Barber Shop for their cooperation in making the program a success.
