484 Ramadan Bazaar Traders in Perak Receive Perkeso Contributions

BATU GAJAH: 484 Ramadan bazaar traders in Perak have received coverage under the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme (SKSPS), sponsored by the Perkasa Melayu Perak Small Traders Association.

Perak Perkeso Director, V. Mohanadas, said the SKSPS contribution aims to provide social protection for hawkers and small traders, especially during the fasting month.

He explained that the recipients operate at various Ramadan bazaars, including those in Chemor, Masjid Medan Klebang Restu Chemor, Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Halaman Meru Permai, and Dataran Orkid Batu Gajah.

“This SKSPS contribution offers various benefits to hawkers and small traders, including workplace accident protection, health insurance, and financial assistance in emergencies,” he said.

He spoke after the official launch of the Ramadan Bazaar at Dataran Taman Orkid, Batu Gajah, which was also attended by BMohamad Razif Ramli, president of the Batu Gajah District Council (MDBG)

Meanwhile, Mohamad Razif stated that 148 traders at the Taman Orkid Ramadan Bazaar received sponsorship under the scheme.

In addition, throughout Ramadan, customers who bring their food containers will receive an RM2 voucher.

“This initiative supports the Perak State Government’s efforts to reduce the use of single-use plastic bags,” he said.
