IPOH: A rapidly widening sinkhole in front of the 1 Lasam building along Jalan Lasam has prompted immediate action from the Ipoh City Council (MBI), following a complaint lodged last week.
The situation, which raised safety concerns among road users and nearby occupants, was brought to MBI’s attention by the management of Ipoh Echo after the sinkhole showed signs of worsening.
In response, the city council deployed its technical team to carry out remedial work, which included backfilling the sinkhole two days ago to prevent any untoward incidents.
In a statement, the Ipoh Echo management expressed its appreciation to MBI for its prompt response and efforts to ensure the safety and accessibility of the affected area.
“We truly appreciate MBI’s swift action in safeguarding public safety,” said Balkis Zahari, a staff member at 1 Lasam.
