KUALA KANGSAR: It wasn’t just about running—participants also took part in plogging, a trash-collecting activity aimed at preserving environmental cleanliness and sustainability.

The Kuala Fun Run, held at Dataran Lembah, was organized by the Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council (MPKK).

In an impressive outcome, a total of 300 kilograms of trash was collected by all 190 participants who joined the program.

The participants included school students, public university students, and council members.

“Participants were required to run while picking up litter along the designated route. Winners were determined based on the total weight of trash collected.

“Over the four-hour event, 300kg of waste was gathered across several locations including Medan Kraftangan Lembah, Laman Budaya, Laman Pahlawan, Dataran Pavilion, the bus terminal, and rubber tree areas,” MPKK said in a statement.

The council added that the program aimed to foster awareness and a sense of responsibility among the community to maintain cleanliness in their respective areas and throughout the district.

It also served to promote unity and sportsmanship within the community.
