IPOH: Members of the public are invited to undergo a free lung function test in conjunction with Ipoh Lung Health Day, which will take place on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 15 Clarke Street (Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil).

Organised by the Perak Chest Society in collaboration with the Malaysian Thoracic Society and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), the programme aims to raise awareness about lung health among the community.

In a statement, organisers said the event will begin at 2.30 pm and feature a series of health talks focusing on lung diseases, delivered by medical experts and experienced speakers.

Among the speakers are Dr Leong Oon Keong, Mr Lam Keat Nam and Mr Goh Ye Jet.

“The public will be introduced to common symptoms and early warning signs of lung diseases, as well as the differences between obstructive and restrictive lung conditions,” the statement said.

A Q&A session will also allow participants to engage directly with the speakers.

Lung screenings will be available both before and after the talks, and light refreshments will be served.

Admission is free, but seats are limited and prior online registration is required.

For more information, the public may contact Mr Andrew Ong at 019-573 0536.
