MBI Acts Swiftly to Repair Damaged Road at Jalan Stadium Perak

By ROSLI MANSOR AHMAD RAZALI

IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has responded swiftly to public complaints over a damaged section of road along Jalan Stadium Perak, near the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) building.

The issue was brought to light on 21 May by Zaid Azman, 55, a daily commuter who urged immediate repairs to address potholes and uneven surfaces that not only made driving difficult but also posed a danger to motorcyclists.

In a statement, MBI confirmed that the repair works were completed following the complaint, which gained attention after being highlighted on the Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic social media page.

“MBI remains committed to ensuring the city’s infrastructure is in good condition and is always responsive to public feedback, especially in enhancing the comfort and safety of Ipoh residents,” the council said.

Mohd Irwan Ishak, 45, a resident, welcomed the prompt action but encouraged MBI to carry out regular inspections.

“I truly appreciate MBI’s quick response. However, I believe it would be better if the council conducted routine checks, especially on roads under its jurisdiction, without waiting for public complaints. That would further enhance MBI’s reputation,” he said.
