IPOH — A total of 100 underprivileged families in Gugusan Manjoi received food aid boxes from Puncak Emas Infra Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Tambun Parliamentary Office at Dewan Taman Kledang Jaya recently.

Puncak Emas Infra assistant general manager of operations, Mohd Hafiz Bujang, said the list of aid recipients was provided by the Tambun Parliament based on the needs of asnaf (the poor) families in the area.
“For this programme, we allocated assistance to 100 asnaf families in Gugusan Manjoi.
“Previously, we had also organised a ‘Back to School’ programme, and several more initiatives will be carried out under our CSR allocation based on the current needs of the community,” he said.

Apart from distributing the aid through the hall, Mohd Hafiz and Puncak Emas staff also visited five homes in Manjoi to personally deliver the aid.
Village head of Tengku Hussein, Muhammad Iqbal Dinzly Muhamad Saifuddin, representing six village chiefs in Gugusan Manjoi, said the contribution was especially meaningful to families consisting of single mothers, senior citizens, bedridden patients, and those without a steady income.
“We are very grateful to Puncak Emas and the Tambun Parliamentary Office for selecting recipients who are genuinely in need,” he said.

Among the beneficiaries was Aishah Nur Fatihah Abdullah, 56, from Buntong, who recently underwent brain tumour surgery. She said the contribution helped ease her family’s financial burden.
“My husband has no permanent job, and with rising living costs, this assistance is very meaningful to us,” she said.

Another recipient, Mohd Salleh Safie, 68, from Manjoi, who works cutting grass for a living, said the aid would help sustain him while waiting for his application for welfare assistance to be approved.
The food aid boxes were also distributed to six village chiefs to be handed over to selected asnaf families in their respective areas.
