Landowners, homeowners urged to prevent properties from becoming overgrown

By Zaki MS

IPOH – All landowners, including residential property owners, are reminded to take responsibility for the condition and surroundings of their properties.

They should ensure that their land or residential premises are properly maintained and cleaned regularly to prevent overgrown vegetation from becoming a recurring problem.

The matter is important as almost every residential area in Ipoh appears to have abandoned houses or vacant lots that are poorly maintained and eventually become overgrown with bushes and weeds.

Such conditions not only affect the cleanliness and comfort of residents but may also raise concerns over the presence of venomous reptiles.

A similar problem was reported at a vacant lot behind homes along Hala Silibin 4, Taman Grand Silibin, here.

Residents’ complaints regarding the condition were received by Buntong Zone Councillor Lawrence Palanisamy, who subsequently referred the matter to the Ipoh City Council’s (MBI) Public Health and Municipal Services Department for inspection and further action.

Following the complaint, the department issued a notice to the landowner, and cleaning works were subsequently carried out at the site.

Lawrence also expressed his appreciation to MBI and the landowner for their action and cooperation in ensuring the area remains clean, safe and comfortable.

He also urged residents to continue reporting any complaints or information so that appropriate action can be taken for the well-being of the community.
